About Grassroots Clothing
Grassroots is an apt name for a T-shirt collection, given that Ts are the most basic and fundamental piece of clothing outside a pair of jeans.

And while classic Ts are the heart and soul of the collection, there’s plenty of room to build on basics. Designer Linda Danley’s ability to reinterpret the tee each season—whether it’s introducing a cutting-edge fabric, a slew of new colors or details that put a totally fresh spin on this quintessential icon of American style.

Every great idea fills a void in the marketplace. As owners of a fashionable Malibu boutique, Linda and her husband Greg noticed that the right T-shirt, above all else, could make the difference between looking chic or sloppy.

So Linda took a simple white tee and reshaped it into one that fit and flattered. Then she dyed it in a rainbow of colors like citrus lemon, aqua, cotton candy, mandarin, and ruby red, among many others. Innovative details followed. Think ruching, ruffles, contrast stitching, embroidery and crystal-studded grommets.

Fourteen years after Grassroots made its debut, more than 2,000 specialty stores carry the collection. The good news? Linda continues to captivate with her ability to make sure basic never means boring.
